Notice of Special Election to Elect a City Commissioner
Notice is hereby given that a Special Election will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 7:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M., in the City of Miami, Florida, at the polling places in the several election precincts designated by the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections, at which election the qualified electors participating therein will vote to elect a City Commissioner to the Office of District 4 for the City of Miami, Florida.
Candidate qualifying for the Special Election will be held at the Office of the City Clerk, Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida, 33133 starting on Monday, April 21, 2025, and ending on Friday, April 25, 2025. During this period, the Office of the City Clerk will be open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., and on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Qualifying fees for City Commissioner must be paid by a check drawn on the candidate’s campaign account and must be signed by the campaign treasurer or deputy treasurer. Qualifying fees for City Commissioner are as follows:
State Assessment Fee for City Commissioner: $582.00
City Qualifying Fee for City Commissioner: $100.00
It is respectfully requested that prospective candidates for the Special Election to please call, in advance, to set up an appointment to qualify as a candidate. Appointments can be made by contacting the Office of the City Clerk via email at City-Campaigns@miamigov.com or by telephone at (305) 250-5361.
Voter registration of persons desiring to vote in this Special Election shall be in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida. Each person desiring to become a registered voter shall be responsible for properly filling out the registration form and submitting it to the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections. Voters desiring to participate in the Special Election by using a Vote-by-Mail ballot shall cast their Vote-by-Mail ballots in accordance with the provisions of the laws of the State of Florida. Please contact the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections to ensure that your Vote-By-Mail request has not expired. A request for a Vote-by-Mail ballot to be mailed to a voter must be received by the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections no later than 5:00 P.M. on the 12th day before the election.
