ACHI recently launched a new tool to help policymakers, healthcare providers, and community leaders examine acute behavioral health events in Arkansas. In an interview with public radio station KUAF, ACHI Interim President and CEO Craig Wilson discusses this resource, the Arkansas Acute Behavioral Health Events Dashboard.

The interactive dashboard can help identify gaps in mental health care in the state, Wilson says, noting that one such gap is in follow-up care for people who experience acute behavioral health events. Among people seen in an emergency room or admitted for an inpatient hospital stay for behavioral health events, many do not receive follow-up care in an outpatient setting within 120 days, the dashboard shows.

ACHI has also created a dashboard and an infographic examining behavioral health events among new Arkansas mothers. All of these projects are made possible by the Arkansas Healthcare Transparency Initiative, which is administrated by ACHI under the authority of the Arkansas Insurance Department.
