GRANT COMPETITION ANNOUNCED FOR 21ST CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS

News Release

January 15, 2025

The Nebraska Department of Education is requesting proposals for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers 2025 grant competition.

The goal of the 21st CCLC program is to establish or expand community learning centers that provide students with academic enrichment opportunities as well as activities that complement the students’ regular academic programs.

One million dollars of funding is available to successful Nebraska applicants who offer services to eligible school buildings where at least 40 percent of the students qualified for free or reduced priced meals as reported on the 2023-24 Nebraska Education Profile. First-Time applicants or current grantees whose grant ends Summer 2025 may apply for a subsequent First-Time/New Grant competition. Current grantees applying for a new grant that will be serving the same building population of their current five-year grant period will need to apply using a new priority focus or significant expansion of services/programming to the students (e.g., adding new grade levels, new priority focus, etc.).

Proposals for the grant competition must be submitted to the Grants Management System by March 4, 2025, 11:59pm. The grant application, other information as well as eligibility requirements and funding priorities are available on the Nebraska Department of Education web site at: https://www.education.ne.gov/21stcclc/grant-competition/.

A technical assistance grant writing webinar will be recorded and posted with the 2025 grant application materials below on January 13, 2025. Office hours will be provided for any questions or guidance. Dates and access to the office hours are available in the RFA document.

Interested school districts and community organizations are encouraged to listen to the webinar and participate in office hours. For additional information, contact Erika Wibbels, statewide coordinator for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program, at: erika.wibbels@nebraska.gov or at 402.219.3897.
