Weekly Traffic Update: November 15, 2024
New Hampshire St. to close between 10th St. and 11th St.
Beginning Monday, November 18, contractors will close New Hampshire St. from 10th St. to 11th St. to perform utility improvements as part of ongoing building construction. Traffic in the area will be detoured to Massachusetts St.
The City anticipates this work to end on November 29, pending weather or other delays. The traffic control shift for northbound traffic will remain after this closure ends to allow for the building construction to continue.
Traffic Alert: 6th St. – Mass. St. to Kentucky St.; Expect delays
This Thursday, November 14, contractors for the City’s 6th St. improvement project changed the traffic control along 6th St. from Massachusetts St. to Kentucky St. to begin pavement work on the inside lanes. This phase of the project is scheduled to occur over Thursday and Friday this week.
During this time, traffic remains open along 6th St., but drivers should expect momentary delays as crews complete the work. To help navigate through the area, flaggers will be present to assist drivers, and the City encourages drivers to consider alternate routes using Tennessee St. and 7th St. for accessing downtown.
The City appreciates the public’s patience as we work towards the completion of the project, and we encourage all drivers to be safe and attentive while in the work zone. For more information on this project and other improvements along 6th St., visit lawrenceks.org/mso/6th-street-construction.
