"The Messengers" Launch Holiday Fundraiser Benefit
on World AIDS Day
/EINPresswire.com/ Los Angeles, CA - November 18, 2011 -- The Messengers, a Grammy nominated songwriting and production team formed by Nasri Atweh and Adam Messinger, today announced their first annual "Musical Toy Drive and FUNdraiser" charity event to benefit Children Affected by AIDS Foundation (CAAF) and Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, on Thursday December 1st, 2011 8-11pm at Castle Ivar, by invitation.
Considering Nasri's Christian/Palestinian roots and Adam's Jewish background, The Messengers are utilizing their diverse cultures to rewrite the holiday season in the spirit of fun and hope for every child. Toys collected by the drive will be donated to Children Affected by Aids Foundation. In addition, all monies raised will go to Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
"Our mission is to bring out the fun in fundraising," commented Nasri Atweh. "This is no stuffy, red-carpet charity event."
The Messengers' Musical Toy Drive and FUNdraiser - the first ever of its kind, takes place on World AIDS Day this year, December 1st.
Surprise musical acts will perform acoustic sets of holiday-themed music in between sets by The Messengers' fellow Producer - DJ Frank E. Confirmed performers, in addition to The Messengers, include newly-signed Epic Records band Tucker, as well as the duo of Alexus Phomvongsa, age 14, and Brian Shin, age 16, who were discovered on YouTube singing "Mistletoe," the number one hit song written and produced by The Messengers with Justin Bieber.
"We're excited to put a focus on musical instruments and encouraging kids to play," says Adam Messinger. "Who knows where Justin Bieber would be today if he never got his first toy drum set."
Beyond cocktails and entertainment, food will be generously provided by fükü Burgers, along with complimentary hair jewelry offered by Untamed Instincts.
Admission for invited guests to the party, is a musical toy. There will also be a silent auction and prizes to be raffled at the event.
For 10 days leading into the FUNdraiser, there will be a global public auction for a "Studio Session with The Messengers" on eBay's charity site.
