Preparing for the Next Stage of Growth
PotashCorp is growing. A look inside PotashCorp’s CDN $7.5 billion potash expansion program.
We’re growing our operational capability. We’re growing our employee base and we're playing an important role in helping our communities grow.
We provide the fertilizer that helps the world’s farmers produce more nutritious food. Global populations are rising and the need to produce more food per acre is helping drive demand for potash and other essential crop nutrients. To help meet this need and position our company for its next stage of growth, in 2003 PotashCorp embarked on what would be a CDN $7.5 billion expansion program to improve operational capability at every potash mine site. This undertaking is expected to increase operational capability to 17.1 million tonnes by 2015, a significant increase from when the program began.
These expansions have impacts far beyond increased potash production. They create jobs, support local businesses and communities and have a significant positive impact on the economy – in Saskatchewan and beyond.
We will be launching a new addition to our website which will provide ongoing information and updates about these expansions and what they mean for PotashCorp and our stakeholders.
