Levyx Signs Fintech OEM QuasarDB to Bring Unprecedented Performance to Latency-Sensitive Applications

QuasarDB Selects Levyx’s Ultra-Low-Latency Helium™ Engine to Optimize Its Leading Time-Series Database

IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Levyx Inc., whose high-performance, ultra-low latency data processing software dramatically reduces Big Data infrastructure complexity and costs, announced that the company has signed QuasarDB, a provider of a time series database for real-time data analysis, as an OEM customer. Levyx’s Helium™ data engine has been embedded in QuasarDB’s persisted, network-distributed, column-oriented database with time series support. The combined solution is being used to help large financial institutions mine Big Data, such as market transaction histories for valuable information that can provide insight into market trends.  The optimized solution can also be applied in similar use cases in the Aerospace & Defense, Healthcare, Federal, IT & Telecom, and Retail sectors.

Edouard Alligand, CEO of QuasarDB, said: “We chose Levyx’s Helium product because it significantly enhances the performance of Quasar’s database implementation in certain applications. It also provides a reliable persistence layer and allows our data flow to bypass the file system. These are important enhancements in a growing number of customer applications needing to process large-scale datasets in near-real-time with objects numbering in the billions. Furthermore, Helium was very easily embedded into our technology.”

Reza Sadri, CEO of Levyx, said: “We are very excited about working with QuasarDB. The displacement potential of their database is quite large as they have resolved many of the issues plaguing some of the largest, most transactional institutions in the world. They enable lightspeed while their potential customer base is still encumbered by, in some cases, decades-old technology. QuasarDB is also poised to extend their reach well beyond the financial markets. For Levyx, this is another validation point that high-performance, ultra-low-latency embeddable solutions are in high demand and that their use cases are growing.”

Levyx software technologies are hardware-independent and serve as enhancements to many of the world’s most popular Big Data platforms including RocksDB, Apache Spark, LevelDB, and Memcached. Levyx’s Helium engine is one of the world's fastest key value stores and is optimized for flash, storage class memory, and multi-core systems. Due to its highly embeddable characteristics, Levyx has integrated Helium into these prolific Big Data platforms as a high-performance core data processing engine.

Helium is available for enterprise consumption. An online demo can be accessed at http://www.levyx.com/helium and a short YouTube video on Helium can be found at http://bit.ly/LevyxHelium.
