GLASSBORO, NJ, UNITED STATES, January 18, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- GLASSBORO, NJ—Thursday, January 25, 2018 is the deadline to submit nominations for the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce (GCCC) Foundation’s 14th Annual Community Service Awards. Nominations are being accepted in the following categories: Business Person of the Year, Small Business Person of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Chamber Member of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year, and the Robert M. Bess Memorial Youth Scholarship.

Nominees must meet the “five areas of excellence” detailed on the nomination form, which can be found on the Chamber’s website at http://gc-chamber.com/csa/.

Les Vail, CEO/President of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce, states, “For 14 years, the Chamber has proudly recognized business professionals and community members throughout the County who go above and beyond to give back to our County and region to make it a better place to live, work and do business. We also recognize special Chamber members, a local non-profit and provide $1000 scholarships to three local high school seniors at the event.”

The GCCC Foundation’s 14th Annual Community Service Awards starts at 5:30 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Auletto Caterers in Almonesson, NJ. All proceeds from the Community Service Awards will go towards the GCCC Foundation and the three $1000 scholarships being offered to local high school seniors this year.

The GCCC Foundation offers grants to small businesses for employee training along with educational opportunities for certifications and degrees. In addition, grants will be available for small operational purchases such as computers and office furniture. The goal of the Foundation is to be a catalyst to provide funding to small businesses in an effort to improve the economic and civic climate throughout the region and help to create and sustain a skilled workforce. Funding for the GCCC Foundation will be generated through sponsorships, donations, grants and special events like the Community Service Awards.
