Honda Rearview Report: January 7 - January 13, 2017
"This year marks the 40th anniversary of our decision to build products in America, so it's fitting that we started the year with exciting news about multiple new models with American roots.
The Ridgeline pickup was named 2017 North American Truck of the Year (NATOTY), and we had a terrific time with our colleagues from Honda R&D Americas and Honda Manufacturing of Alabama celebrating the most innovative truck in the business.
Adding to the excitement was the global debut of another vehicle developed in the U.S. and built in Alabama, the 2018 Honda Odyssey. The next gen Odyssey delivers the ultimate in family-friendly performance and features with its new Magic Slide™ second-row seat, CabinWatch and CabinTalk technologies, and an available new 10-speed automatic transmission from our plant in Tallapoosa, Georgia.
Finally, we announced a new, dedicated hybrid vehicle to be built in America and utilizing our award-winning two-motor hybrid system. When it launches next year, this new hybrid will join an expanding Honda lineup of electrified vehicles, as more than half of the new models we launch in the next two years will be electrified.
The North American International Auto Show was a terrific way to kick off 2017, and we're looking forward to sharing more innovative Honda products in the year ahead."
