The prestigious award "Leadership award" was presented by Dr. GVG Krishnamurthy, Former Election Commisioner of India,Dr. Bhishma Narain Singh, Former Union Minister and ex-Governor of 7 states, and Honorable BP Singh, Former Governor of Sikkim. Among the other esteemed dignatories were Mr. Sangram SIngh, Advocate at Supereme Court of India, Maj. Ved Prakash, Secretary AICC, Mr. Vijay Singh, Secretary IEDRA and Mr. Roonak Shah, Industrialist from Maharashtra.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. GVG Krishnamurthy highlighted in a witty manner that "IT +IT = IT" later explaining to the baffled audience that "Indian Talent + International Technology equates India of Twenty first century". He felt immensely proud of our recent achievement that we sent 20 satellites in one day to space.
Everyone's chest was filled with utter pride when Dr. Bhishma Narain Singh narrated the answer from Mr. Rakesh Sharma, after he landed on moon and Smt Indira Gandhi asked him, "How does India look from above?" . The reply was; "Saare Jahan Se Acha Hindustan Hamara" ("India is the best in this whole world". He also guided to follow the 3 Gandhian priciples: 1)Love your Mother 2) Love your mother tongue 3) and love your motherland. He concluded by urging the young leaders to take the poor of the Nation along as they grow.
Mr. Sangram Patnaik infused inspiration by narrating a story about Michael Jordan, the famous basketball player who felt inspired after a series of challenges his father gave him to sell cheap used clothes at way above the market prices and he achieved that by drawing cartoon characters or getting a chance signature by a popular actress. Michael Jordan was made to think, if an ordinary peace of cloth could appreciate its value, why not he as a human and the rest is history.
Mr. Patnaik also congratulated the awardees on their risk taking capabilities and optimism, which he believes are synonymous with successful enterpreneurs. He quoted Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook,"In this dynamic world full of uncertainity, Not taking any risk is the only strategy that is bound to fail"
Honorable BP Singh, accounted for the recent Brexit and India's stance at NSG and connected with the audience by mentioning that simple congratulations for any award can simply by done by saying the word "Congrats" but he was there to "Celebrate" the achievements of the leaders from their respective fields.
