VOLUNTEERS, BUSINESS OWNERS, AND COMMUNITY LEADERS COME TOGETHER IN SUPPORT OF CHILDREN’S CANCER DAY ON AUGUST 6TH

Junki and Linda Yoshida invite ticket holders to join them at their beautiful Gardenview Estate for the 6th Annual Soulful Giving Blanket Concert

Troutdale, Oregon, June 27, 2016—The Soulful Giving Foundation is orchestrating the hottest event in East County by bringing together: four outstanding tribute bands, fourteen of Portland’s finest restaurants, Chateau St. Michelle Wines, Pabst Blue Ribbon beers, Bendistillery vodka, Sake One cocktails, art and vendor shopping, champagne/jewelry raffle, and remarkable silent auction items. And that’s just the beginning!

Spread your blankets and sand chairs under shady fir trees on Saturday, August 6th from 11:30am - 8:30pm and enjoy a fun-filled day along the scenic Sandy River in Troutdale, Oregon. This is the sixth annual "21 and over" Soulful Giving Blanket Concert, benefiting Randall Children's Hospital and Providence Cancer Research Center with Pete Ferryman, news anchor, and Andy Carson of Good Day Oregon on KPTV Fox-12 presiding as co-emcees. The Yoshidas will open the gardens surrounding their sprawling 15-acre estate and indoor, air-conditioned pavilion once again to 4,000 lucky ticket holders. This year’s musical line-up features: The Radical Revolution (80’s Dance & Party Band), Jukebox Heroes (Foreigner Tribute Band), Barracuda (Heart Tribute Band), and Stone in Love (Journey Tribute Band).

Participating restaurants in the pavilion will include: El Gaucho, Morton’s, Salty’s, Tree’s Catering, Urban Fondue, Brix Tavern, Swank and Swine, La Bamba, Nicholas, Thirst Bistro, Bumper’s Grill & Bar, Enzo’s, Bamboo Sushi, and The Riverview. As an additional treat, Man-with-a-pan chef Mark Staggs will be showcasing his talent by creating blazing calamari, and Fireside Grill, Garden Monsters, 808 Grinds, K&F Coffee, Crater Lake Soda, and Earth 2o Water will have food and beverage items available for purchase throughout the day.

With cancer being the leading cause of death by disease among children in the U.S., this year’s event will benefit the pediatric cancer unit at Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel as well as the Providence Cancer Research Center. To honor the dedication of medical teams in this field, Governor Brown has issued an official proclamation designating August 6th as Oregon Children’s Cancer Awareness Day. Although cure rates are increasing, close to 35% of children diagnosed with cancer will not survive and there has been an increase in cancer over the past 20 years. Doctors and scientists studying and identifying the causes and cures of childhood cancers need the public’s assistance to support advances in treatment. With this in mind, the Soulful Giving Foundation encourages you to join us in making a difference in the lives of children in Oregon State.

Tickets are currently on sale at www.soulfulgiving.org. General admission is $25 and includes parking and shuttle service.
