OTTAWA, ONTARIO, CANADA, August 28, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A technological innovation that converts waste into 100% renewable energy, as well as to check environmental hazards, is to kick start soon in parts of Nasarawa State near Abuja.

Additionally, the wastes will be processed and ultimately produce hydrogen and nitrogen for green energy storage as NH3 (Anhydrous Ammonia), for an uninterrupted power supply, as well as fertilizer for agriculture.

The technology is being pioneered by a Canadian based Science Company; NH3 Canada Inc, and then delivered as full turnkey solutions by sister company NH3 Europa ApS of Horsens, Denmark, in collaboration with Nigeria Renewable Energy and Real Estate firm; Trevari Group.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two companies was executed on Friday, July 3 in Abuja and the two companies will now be called and addressed as Trevari NH3 Ltd., and exclusively so, for all projects within Nigeria.

Already, an understanding with Nasarawa State Government to commence the funding and development for proper town planning as well as constructions and delivery of Engineering works, Renewable Energy generation and distribution in selected districts In the state, as pilot schemes, has been reached with the donor company.

Briefing Nasarawa State Deputy Governor- Silas Agara on the project in Lafia, the Chief Executive Officer of Trevari NH3, Mr. Innocent Obande said the renewable energy when fully operational would address the huge deficits in power generation, control environmental hazards and create employment opportunities in the country.

Mr. Obande noted that the development of infrastructure and other social amenities are necessary ingredients to stimulate Economic growth and employment opportunities in any economy, saying that public private partnerships are the answer.

He added: “ Indeed, the provision of functional infrastructure and its associated development is an important index to gauge the economic potentials in most developed countries".

Mr. Obande confirmed that the company has acquired over 300 hectares of land in parts of Nasarawa state for the construction of housing estates with state of the art infrastructure that would address the housing deficit in Abuja and environs.


In his remarks, the President of the company Robert Leth, who led other members of the NH3 corporate team (Stephanie Lessard and Bruce Tilley) on this trade mission to Nigeria, assured that their technical teams in Canada, Denmark and the United States of America, have broad expertise in the production of all major forms of renewable energy, and thereby to help check climate change, and are ready to move to site as soon as all legal arrangements are concluded, within a matter of weeks.

Leth added that these newest technologies would immeasurably add value to the Nigerian economy by providing electricity for all, and reliably so, 24/7, with 0% Emissions, and at affordable rates, and thereby help to make life more worthwhile, for one and all, both locally and globally.

Funding for this portfolio of Trevari NH3 renewable energy projects, be they solar, wind or waste-to-energy, comes from a variety of private, commercial and/or climate-driven sources, such as the EU Horizon 2020 Programme, and are each financed on a project by project basis.

The company emphasizes that this ongoing “pipeline” of projects delivers on all levels, not just on fighting climate change nor as social development programmes, but as truly viable, commercial propositions.

Nasarawa State Deputy Governor- Agara -- appreciated the team for choosing the state for the pilot scheme saying that the government would do all that is needed, to help make life much better for the citizens.

The deputy governor has therefore constituted a technical committee to liaise with the company to work out modalities to ensure the speedy take off of the project.

The team had earlier visited the traditional ruler of Karu, Esu of Karu HRM - Luka Panya  who endorsed the project as well as the sites for the proposed programme.
