TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, June 26, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Andrew Nicholson returns to his alma mater Father Michael Goetz Secondary School, in Mississauga to host his 2nd annual basketball camp, 44 Hoops.

The Orlando Magic forward, who was recently a torchbearer for the 2015 Pan Am Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia, gears up to play in the games for Canada Basketball in a unique way - by giving back to his community. As a growing athletic luminary with extraordinary talent and the sense of skill that captivates and excites fans, Andrew Nicolson has been one of the NBA’s most admired rising stars since joining the league in 2012. Andrew’s work ethic has earned him the respect of his NBA peers, sports broadcasters, fans and his local community. 44 Hoops Basketball Camp welcomed more than 40 participants last year over a five-day span. Nicholson, offered daily guidance and mentorship to the kids with the help of some of the best basketball players and coaches the city has to offer. Kids between the ages of 7 and 16 can register for the camp by visiting 44hoops.com. Participants will receive five days of training and will focus on improving their skills while having fun in a hard-working and safe environment. BACKGROUND

Andrew Nicholson graduated from Father Michael Goetz Secondary School in 2007 after leading the school to two city championships. Andrew went on to star at St. Bonaventure University before the NBA’s Orlando Magic selected him with the 19th overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft. For the past two summers, Andrew has played for Canada at the FIBA Americas Championship in 2013 and last year on an 11-game tour through Europe.
