Oil & Gas UK announces new Board members
Oil & Gas UK, the representative organisation for the UK offshore oil and gas industry, today (May 12 2015) announces a number of appointments of member company representatives to its Board.
In addition to the new members joining the Board, existing Board member Neil McCulloch, president North Sea, of Enquest Plc, is named as the new vice chair representative for the operator community, whilst Board member Terry Savage, corporate relationship director, Global Energy Group is named as his counterpart, as vice chair representing the contractor community.
Joining the Board this spring are:
Andrew Thomson, managing director, offshore, North Sea, Aramark
Chris Bird, managing director, MOL Energy UK
Dave Stewart, CEO, Wood Group PSN
Gunnar Breivik, managing director, Statoil Production UK
Matt Betts, UK vice president, Halliburton
Neil Clyne, operations director, Transocean Drilling UK Limited
Paul Goodfellow, upstream director UK & Ireland, Shell Exploration & Production
Pete Jones, managing director, United Kingdom, TAQA
Neil McCulloch said:
“I’m pleased and extremely proud to have been given the opportunity to serve as operator vice chairman at what is a seminal time for the UKCS.
“As an industry, being able to deliver our share of the tripartite obligations coming out of the Wood Report will require active leadership and representation from the broad diversity of interests in the basin. As such it seems fitting that EnQuest, as the largest UK based independent oil producer in the UK North Sea, has a place on the Board of Oil & Gas UK.”
Terry Savage added:
“I am delighted to be appointed as contractor vice chairman of the board of Oil & Gas UK. We have some challenging times ahead for operators and contractors to jointly address the cost and efficiency review needed to ensure continuity for the energy industry.
“The UK Continental Shelf has produced over 43 billion barrels of oil and gas to date, a feat which was only made possible by hundreds and thousands of companies across the UK which make up our world-class supply chain. This supply chain is now also worth some £15bn to the UK in exports every year.
“I look forward to working with our vast contractor community to promote our skills and expertise, improve the business environment we operate in and improve the safety of our talented workforce.”
Oil & Gas UK would like to take this opportunity to thank those representatives leaving Board for their commitment and service to the industry. They are:
Adrian Rose, managing director, Transocean North Sea
Glen Cayley, Shell Upstream International
Gordon Ballard, chairman and country manager, Schlumberger UK Limited
James Edens, vice president and managing director, CNR International UK Ltd
Martin Rune Pederson, managing director, Maersk Oil UK
Mike Skitmore, UK business unit manager, Premier Oil
Robin Watson, chief executive, Wood Group PSN
Susan Elston, vice president strategic development, Sodexo Remote Site Scotland Limited
Deirdre Michie, Oil & Gas UK’s chief executive, commented:
“The low price of oil and high cost of operating on the UK Continental Shelf present our industry with a great challenge. That is why, as the leading trade association for the UK’s offshore industry, we are very fortunate to have the guidance of a talented Board. I believe that by working together, this sector will become stronger, safer and have a brighter future.
“I look forward to working closely with Oil & Gas UK’s co-chairs, John Pearson and Trevor Garlick, Vice Co-Chairs, Neil McCulloch and Terry Savage and Treasurer Archie Kennedy, alongside the rest of our Board, to strengthen the prospects for businesses in this sector.”
