Indiegogo Goes Up in the Sky, Down on the Ground, and On Screen
DALLAS, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, November 12, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Remember when you were a kid? Friendships were forged with imagination and creativity. Daydreaming was as natural as breathing, and what was true in a daydream was more real than anything that happened in reality. In a child’s mind, there are no boundaries, especially when sharing thoughts, plots, and ideas among friends. Sometimes, we need to return to that whimsical place where once upon a time was as much a part of our lives as 9:00 to 5:00 is now.
What happens when two little girls refuse to allow the wall that separates them to hinder their imaginations and budding friendship? Writer-director Elin Britton and producer Alex Garcia Topete want to create a live-action and 2D animated hybrid short film called Up in the Sky, Down on the Ground about two young girls as they test the waters of a new friendship. When shy and imaginative Sophie investigates an odd sound on her walk home from school, she discovers Cara, and their imaginations take flight as they share stories of adventures and far-off lands best explored with a friend.
The filmmakers’ Indiegogo goal is to raise $6,000 by December 7. The crowdfunding contributions will be used to obtain a great cast, crew and animation team so that the film’s production quality is first rate. Animation is expensive, but this story is so heartwarming that it will be money well spent. In order for the film to reach a wider audience, Britton and Garcia-Topete plan to enter their production in film festivals, where it will compete for festival and audience awards.
The beauty of Up in the Sky, Down on the Ground is that everyone can relate to the feeling of excitement of finding a new friend and the feeling of uncertainty for what comes next. As Sophie and Cara’s adventures unfold, both the young and the old will find themselves engrossed in a world with no limitations, where possibilities are as endless as your imagination, and anything can become reality. This is the world Britton and Garcia-Topete wan’t to create for you, but first, you must help their film become a reality.
There are many ways to become involved in the making of the film. Whether you contribute money or promote the film via word of mouth, every action counts. Different levels of support earn different perks, for example: for $5 backers will receive a copy of the final film; for $10 backers will receive a signed print and a thank you card, and for $50 a postcard in the mail and a “thank you” credit in the film itself! Whether you contribute money or promote the film via word of mouth, every show of support earns you the immense gratitude and appreciation of the Up in the Sky, Down on the Ground team.
