Indiegogo Goes Up in the Sky, Down on the Ground, and On Screen

What happens when two little girls refuse to allow the wall that separates them to hinder their imaginations and budding friendship? Writer-director Elin Britton and producer Alex Garcia Topete want to create a live-action and 2D animated hybrid short film¹ called Up in the Sky, Down on the Ground about two young girls as they test the waters of a new friendship. When shy and imaginative Sophie investigates an odd sound on her walk home from school, she discovers Cara, and their imaginations take flight as they share stories of adventures and far-off lands best explored with a friend.

The filmmakers’ Indiegogo goal is to raise $6,000 by December 7. The crowdfunding contributions² will be used to obtain a great cast, crew and animation team so that the film’s production quality is first rate. Animation is expensive, but this story is so heartwarming that it will be money well spent. In order for the film to reach a wider audience, Britton and Garcia-Topete plan to enter their production in film festivals, where it will compete for festival and audience awards.
