Stockton— Antonio C. 'Tony' Amador, a challenger in the race for California’s 9th District Congressional seat, accused the president and Congressman Jerry McNerney Thursday of jeopardizing national security because of leadership that is guided by a broken compass.
“This country is less safe because of inconsistent and confusing leadership,” Amador said. “When the president admits he doesn’t have strategies for the serious threats we face, and when our Congressman Jerry McNerney fails to engage, it’s time for new leadership. Clearly, their leadership is guided by a broken compass.”
Amador said the Obama ‘degrade and destroy’ strategy is a “non-strategy” and has emboldened the Islamic state to launch a worldwide series of ‘lone wolf’ attacks on unsuspecting targets. Amador said, “Partisan politics has driven Jerry McNerney to blindly back every foolish presidential decision. This is a mistake that jeopardizes our safety.”
“As Obama left for another fundraising trip, he delivered a convoluted argument against the use of quarantines to fight the Ebola virus,” said Amador. “Obama declares military personnel, even those who did not come into contact with any Ebola patients, will be isolated before they are allowed to return home. At the same time, healthcare workers who had direct contact with Ebola patients, you can run loose on the streets,” said Amador.
Meanwhile Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel maintained his order to keep all US Troops isolated for at least 21 days upon returning from Ebola missions in West Africa. This action counters the Obama position for civilians. "Apparently, the military is aware of concerns that that Obama has chosen to ignore for the rest of us," said Amador.
Rumors are rippling through Washington D.C. that Obama is preparing to fire Hagel as the war against ISIS and the botched Ebola response has taken their toll on Obama's credibility. "Time is running out on the Obama administration and its feckless supporters, like Jerry McNerney. Next Tuesday we can change the direction of Washington by voting for new leadership in the 9th District," said Amador.
