FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Stockton, CA-- Antonio C. 'Tony' Amador, a challenger in the race for California's 9th Congressional District seat, slammed Obama’s foreign policy as the “collapse of common sense” and said “Jerry McNerney is nothing more than a season ticket holder on the world stage.”
“The world appears to be falling apart under the leadership of Barack Obama,” said Amador. “We are watching the collapse of common sense as the Obama Administration and congressional allies, such as Jerry McNerney, fail to address real threats such as the Ebola outbreak and the rise of ISIS.
“Obama admitted he didn’t have a strategy to deal with ISIS, and it is becoming more obvious the president doesn’t have a strategy on Ebola,” Amador said. “As a member of Congress, Jerry McNerney is nothing more than a season ticket holder on the world stage. Sitting in his seat and applauding the president has become a spectator sport for McNerney. We need leadership.”
As an example of McNerney’s weakness, Amador cited Obama’s foolishness in arming of Syrian Jihadists merely because they oppose Syrian Dictator Assad. ISIS has surrounded the Kurdish populated town of Kobani, Syria while Christians (Antiochian Greeks, Assyrians, Armenians), and Muslims are being murdered by the same people Congressman McNerney voted to arm. McNerney turned “a blind eye” in 2013 when the so-called rebels were beheading Greek Orthodox Christian priests and blowing up Christian churches in Syria. In the first week of September 2013, McNerney refused to take a stance against effective military action against the Syrian Jihadists/ISIS.
“Jerry McNerney said and did nothing. The role of a US Congressman includes independent foreign policy decisions and votes, not just photo opportunities,” Amador said, indicating that Congressman McNerney needs to be held accountable.
“The 9th district has constituents whose families in Syria are in danger of being killed by ISIS in Syria and Iraq,” Amador said. “I plan to be engaged in foreign policy decisions as a US Congressman and simply not be a 'rubber stamp' for President Obama's failed foreign policy decisions.”
“It’s clear Obama doesn’t have a strategy. He’s out of his league and McNerney is just a patron,” Amador said.
