The business has been formed as a collaboration of one artist and two designers, Anthony, Dan and Sam, each bringing their unique style and experience to the new venture. This team may be just starting out together but between them have over 30 years experience in the world of art, design and music.
The company has been formed by Anthony, who began as a teenager in the music business in London, England. His passion and love of album art lead to a lifetime of collecting iconic images from the 1960s and 70s. As an artist, his colorful images are influenced by musicians, photographs and popular culture.
Dan is a graduate in fine art and visual design from UMass Dartmouth with a concentration in graphic design and Letterform. He was formerly Head of Production at Traffic Entertainment Group in Malden and has designed album covers and box sets for an eclectic mix of Hip Hop, Soul and Disco Artists. He too has a passion for music and is a collector of early to mid 1990s Rap albums.
Sam, the youngest of the trio, has been designing posters for shows and events for several years, converting clients concepts into pieces of commerical art. He has worked in fine art auction houses in Europe.
Gobie Design+Music undertakes commissions from all types of businesses. Their projects are many and varied to include logos for new companies, promotional posters, album art and publicity photographs for new bands, or musicians. Using the concepts from clients, the team at Gobie Design guide, adapt and create, taking original concepts all the way through to a final product.
Although based on the South Shore, Gobie Design+Music is not limited to the United States. Contracts have been accepted from around the world as the internet provides the easy transfer of completed digital images.
