Trans-Tel to expand highly lauded Solutions and Services
/EINPresswire.com/Norman, OK, 18 July 2012 - Trans-Tel Central, Inc., a leading provider of distributed communications systems and information technology services, with over 38 years of experience supporting large commercial corporations, numerous Federal agencies, and multiple branches of the Department of Defense, was recently awarded a SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) prime contract.
The SeaPort-e contract is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) established to facilitate a Navy-wide electronic procurement process. The government estimates that approximately $5.3 billion in services will be procured per year via orders issued under the program. SeaPort-e provides engineering and technical services to support Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Air Systems Command, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Naval Supply Systems Command, Military Sealift Command, Naval Facilities Command, Strategic Systems Programs, Office of Naval Research, and the Marine Corps.
Trans-Tel's skill set and experience is extremely relevant to the missions of the U.S. Navy and the United States Marines. The company's services and solutions continue to be highly sought after as our nation's military modernizes its facilities and mission-critical networks. For this solicitation, Trans-Tel teamed with several large DoD Contractors: TEK Systems, Harris IT Services and Wyle, as well as key Small Businesses: Banning IT Solutions, Essential Data Corporation, Genova Technologies, Transcend Business Solutions and ASC Associates. Under Seaport-e, the Trans-Tel team brings depth of experience in 11 of the 20 functional areas.
"Trans-Tel has a time-proven record of delivering world-class communications solutions and services to the Department of Defense. We are thrilled that mission-critical services will now be available to broader audience of our nation's warfighters to help them achieve mission assurance. With this new prime contract vehicle, Trans-Tel will expand our DoD customer base from primarily support to the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard, to a whole new set of customers within the U.S. Navy and the United States Marines."
Jay Eliason, Chief Executive Officer of Trans-Tel.
Bryan Shank, 20-year Trans-Tel employee, Oklahoma native, and current President & Chief Operating Officer, reflected optimistically on this noteworthy accomplishment:
"Trans-Tel has had a remarkable journey that started over 38 years ago with a handful of structured cabling engineers operating from a very small office in Norman, OK. and has now grown into a highly sought after communications engineering and installation company with a rapidly expanding capabilities portfolio that now includes facility access control, security and surveillance camera systems, digital signage, wireless networking, and managed IT services, among others. We maintain our original corporate headquarters in our hometown of Norman, OK but now have 5 other key office locations around the U.S. and a workforce of over 250 employees, most of them highly trained engineers, technicians and seasoned program managers, operating all over the world. Just over 2 years ago, our executive team looked at ways to continue our growth, and determined that gaining access to additional customers as well as competing more as a Prime contractor, versus only operating as another Prime's subcontractor, was going to be vital to our success. Winning a Prime role on SeaPort-e is an incredibly important first step to accomplishing both of these objectives. Our entire team, led by Todd Martinez, Erik "Skip" Moratzka, Paula Alderman and Russ Thompson, as well as our subcontract partners, should be very proud of their efforts. We've got a lot more work to do, but we're excited about Trans-Tel's future."
Bryan J. Shank, President and COO of Trans-Tel.
