WHAS11 is woven into the very fabric of Louisville and Kentuckiana, dating all the way back to our first broadcast in March of 1950. The station was a trailblazer, being the area’s first to use newsreel film and the first to bring the nation a television broadcast the iconic Kentucky Derby.
