In 1884, The Chase City Clipper began serving the citizens of Chase City and the surrounding area. Four years later, the paper was purchased and renamed the Chase City Progress. Over the years, the paper has expanded and today, as the Mecklenburg News-Progress, the paper covers Mecklenburg County, Virginia,and the surrounding areas.
