Campbell Soup Company Named a Leader in the Maplecroft Climate Innovators Index
CAMDEN, N.J., Apr 26, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) was ranked among the top 100 companies in the Maplecroft Climate Innovation Indexes (CII), designating it for the first time as a "Leader" among the best performing companies in Maplecroft's report covering the year 2011. Campbell raised its index score to 96 over 2010, when the company index ranking was 112.
Companies that are included in the Maplecroft Leader index have been selected from among 360 surveyed U.S. companies based upon superior management, mitigation and adaptation in the field of climate innovation. In 2010, Campbell continued to make progress in reducing its environmental footprint. This included the construction of a 60-acre, 10-MW solar field at the company's Napoleon, Ohio production facility, which now provides 15% of the plant's electricity requirements.
