Lansdowne College Celebrates Successful Theatre Showcase Evenings
/EINPresswire.com/ Leading London sixth form Lansdowne College celebrates the success of an evening of theatre showcase from its students.
Lansdowne College, a leading sixth form college in London, has just completed two highly successful sixth form Theatre Studies Showcase evenings.
The first evening for the AS Theatre Studies group consisted of three short performances with extracts from 'Blue/Orange,' 'My Mother Said I Never Should' and 'Top Girls'. These were all excellently executed by the students and were warmly received by a good sized audience.
The second evening for the A2 Theatre Studies group consisted of two short performances. The first was 'Who Shot The Sheriff' was devised and performed by three students and centred on the James Earl Ray's denial about the shooting of Martin Luther King. The second was 'Girl, Interrupted' concerning experiences in a psychiatric hospital.
Lansdowne College is expanding its Theatre Studies and Drama department and hopes to enter into the National Theatre competition in 2013.
The Principal, John Southworth, said, "I am immensely proud of all the students who performed at our Showcase evenings. They have all worked really hard to achieve such a high standard in a relatively short space of time."
Lansdowne College is an independent sixth form and GCSE College based in Central London offering a unique and effective approach to education at both GCSE and A level. Lansdowne College also offers Easter Revision and Exam Retake courses.
