/EINPresswire.com/LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. - In an announcement today, Gravity Jack, a leader of the augmented reality explosion, has revealed a partnership with Myspace, LLC. The announcement follows a string of significant similar announcements from Gravity Jack in the past months, including partnerships with IZOD INDYCAR Series, Jay@Play's MushABelly brand, Arnold Sports Festival, and more. The relationship between the two companies, formed shortly after the 2011 purchase of Myspace, by Specific Media and Justin Timberlake, will bring interactive and highly engaging augmented reality technology to Myspace marketing operations. The new content will be making its initial debut at SXSW, a world famous entertainment and interactive conference, scheduled for March 9-18, as well as be incorporated in many likely changes to the social media network, expected in the coming months.
Augmented reality (commonly referred to as simply 'AR') is a technology that allows a user to see a view of the real world, but with added information like data, videos, photos, interactive buttons, games and more. Augmented reality has quickly surged to the forefront of technology industries and the announcement today will continue to fuel the growth, bringing this interactive technology to social media fans, worldwide. At SXSW, this month, all primary Myspace marketing materials will feature custom augmented reality from Gravity Jack, who has recently exploded into a position of leadership within the tech industry. All of the company's augmented reality infused content will be able to be viewed through a plugin, within browsAR, Gravity Jack's full-featured mobile augmented reality browser. The app, browsAR is currently already available on iOS (iPhone and iPad 2) and Android operating systems, completely free of charge.
Myspace hasn't limited use of this new tool to just the printed and digital materials, either. In a true fashion statement, all Myspace staff and representation at SXSW will be wearing t-shirts, infused with AR. It is still concealed as to what exactly fans and visitors at SXSW will experience or gain access to when viewing Myspace materials, however it is clear that the two companies are both eager to foster the new relationship well into the future.
"So much is happening for us and our industry right now and we couldn't be more excited about the partnership with Myspace," assures Mitch Williams, Gravity Jack's Chief Operating Officer. "With augmented reality gaining significant traction in what will undoubtedly be a huge impact on the way we view our world, we are very interested in collaborating with other companies, looking to make similar innovative and revolutionary changes. From the moment we began our talks with Myspace, we've experienced exactly that."
While Myspace's use of augmented reality further establishes Gravity Jack as a leader within the augmented reality space, it is clear that the displays seen at SXSW represent only the start of what will surely be a substantial relationship between the two companies, moving into the future.
