As part of Starbucks commitment to espresso excellence, our product and R&D teams always look for ways to enable consistent beverage quality. After several months of development and testing, Starbucks created a new milk steaming pitcher that raises the bar for perfecting handcrafted espresso beverages.
Starting March 6, 2012 this new innovative pitcher design will allow Starbucks baristas to handcraft espresso beverages more efficiently and consistently, so they can continue to deliver great customer service.

- Dome Shape – The narrower, dome-shaped bottom ensures perfectly steamed milk for all types and sizes of Starbucks® hot espresso beverages consistently every time when the steaming wand is submerged into the new steaming pitcher.
- Microfoam – New pitcher shape creates a “whirlpool” effect that creates tiny microfoam bubbles and minimizes large “soapy” bubbles.
- Sweeter and Creamier Taste and Texture – Microfoam created by Starbucks baristas will enhance both the texture and taste of every handcrafted espresso beverage – the perfect foam tastes sweeter and creamier and has a shiny and meringue-like appearance.
The new milk steaming pitcher will be in use at Starbucks stores in the U.S., Canada and throughout Europe. This innovation will roll out to all Starbucks stores globally by the end of 2012.
