What is Emotional Intelligence and How Can it be Taught?

At the undeveloped/uneducated and/or misdeveloped/miseducated stage emotional intelligence is ignorance and at the highest developed/educated/nurtured stage emotional intelligence is wisdom. Wisdom is the cover word for the attributes of selflessness. Ignorance is the cover word for selfishness. Taking the hint from the Bible it is clear that the good word is wisdom and the evil word is ignorance. Thus good is selflessness/wisdom and evil is selfishness/ignorance.
Emotional intelligence is an innate character trait of the brain, where at the undeveloped, uneducated, miseducated and misnurtured level the brain is powered by ignorant/impure/evil/selfish/full-of-emotional-baggage intelligence and at the developed, educated, and fully nurtured level the brain is powered by wisdom/pure/good/selfless/free-of-all- emotional-baggage intelligence.
Selflessness is super mature emotional intelligence which is wisdom and selfishness is premature emotional intelligence which is ignorance. Thus selflessness education is emotional intelligence education which is removing selfishness from the human nature of man.
The objective of our education system has to be to create the best humanly possible human nature in each and every human being; the best possible self/consciousness/I/mind/brain. The question is what specific education goals do we set up to make man as educated as one can be. This specific goal is to create education that makes human intelligence as super mature as possible; on a mass scale.
We need to educate our human intelligence.
Human intelligence it is now clear consists of a foundation of super mature emotional intelligence on which is built a super structure of regular intelligence. Both intelligence and emotional intelligence are like oxygen and hydrogen that combine to create the water of human intelligence. Human intelligence is uneducated and incomplete without each. Both intelligence and emotional intelligence need to be at the super mature level for human intelligence to be at its top.
So far our education system is geared to teaching just regular intelligence. Our education system neglects and ignores emotional intelligence education which is the integral and essential part of regular education; as emotional intelligence is an essential ingredient of human intelligence.
The main cause of neglecting emotional intelligence education is that we are still confused about what generates emotional intelligence. We at the 4th R Foundation have found that selflessness generates super mature emotional intelligence.
The problem is that we use the same education methods to teach both brain/emotional-intelligence and mind/intelligence. The mind thinks in words and so it learns and gets educated in words. The brain thinks through biochemical reactions that are physically altered and set over time to react in set experienced based patterns. When information comes into the brain in words it gets filtered by earlier stored prejudices of the current experience. The current knowledge that comes into the brain is understood biochemically and unconsciously in the context of earlier such information. Thus fixations, addictions, prejudices, likes, dislikes, preferences, beliefs, older knowledge etc. impact and alter the new information coming into the brain.
The main problem of educating the brain is that physically lodged fixations, addictions, prejudices, likes, dislikes, preferences, beliefs, older knowledge and biases etc.(which is bunched together as emotional baggage), block/alter/ignore/dilute/misinterpret and help to create distraction from learning the lesson at hand. So brain education has to start early as the child enters post birth life if not earlier. At least as the student enters Pre-K we must develop tests that determine if the student needs brain education. Brain education is about removing the emotional baggage which is physically integrated into the brain. Thus brain education is emotional brain therapy. It is very different from mind/regular-education. No wonder wisdom education is a big failure as we do not even consider physically changing the brain from evil/ignorant/selfish to good/wise/selfless.
It is amazing that the Bible is saying exactly what we have discovered after 35+ years of researching wisdom. In science terms wisdom education is about cleaning up the brain of all emotional baggage. The Bible is saying that God made man pure and the devil made the man impure. Thus fundamentally man is pure and so, all we need to do is take away the impurity that is added by the devil. In both the science case and the religious case it is about taking away the impurity from man. Thus in both cases wisdom education boils down to unlearning, unhooking from and being free from evil/ignorance/selfishness. So wisdom education is not about teaching it is about unlearning/unteaching!
In religious terms the villain is evil. In science terms the villain is ignorance and in both science and religious terms the villain is selfishness. In religious terms the impurity is selfishness and in science terms the sickness is selfishness.
Also the question whether evil and good are other world entities or of this world is very clear. Evil is the bad word that is made flesh which boils down to the fact that evil is a physical part of us just as the good word made flesh is a physical part of us. It is clear that the ignorant part of man is evil and wisdom part of man is good. Selflessness is good and selfishness is evil. Thus both good and evil are physical parts of human nature.
In both religion and science making man pure boils down to removing selfishness from human nature. No wonder when we teach wisdom by imparting knowledge, pleading, preaching and using carrots and sticks it does not work. Education to make make man free of ignorance/evil/selfishness is about unlearning selfishness. Which boils down to brain therapy.
