Cryan and Quijano Applaud State Funding for Local Schools

TRENTON – As the state budget is passed, local lawmakers announced the approval of additional school education funds to address fundamental funding needs and ensure New Jersey students’ success. Roselle Public Schools will receive $500,000 and Kenilworth will receive $250,000.

This appropriation follows increased school funding awarded earlier in the year, in the following amounts:

· Elizabeth Public Schools: $50,170,482

· Township of Union Public Schools: $11,854,623

· Roselle Public Schools: $7,137,470

· Kenilworth Public Schools: $761,112

“This funding is a win-win for our schools and communities,” said Senator Joe Cryan (D-Union). “I will continue fighting to ensure students and teaching professionals have the money they need to have the best public school education.”

“This year’s budget is the single largest investment in public education in our state’s history, and is the first year that the school funding formula is fully funded,” said Assemblywoman Annette Quijano (D-Elizabeth). “I will always prioritize public school funding without fail.”
