Canada’s Minister for Foreign Affairs visited Stockholm

SWEDEN, May 31 - Sweden and Canada have long enjoyed excellent relations that are now further enhanced by virtue of Sweden’s NATO membership and the altered international situation. 

The agenda included priority issues within NATO, the importance of continued support to Ukraine, the Arctic and developments in the Middle East. Ms Joly and Mr Billström also discussed the planned Swedish military contribution to NATO’s advanced presence in Latvia, which is under Canadian direction.

Ms Joly and Mr Billström also participated in a round-table discussion at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs, which focused on security policy.
