The tropical storm Maliksi is moving northwards and will make landfall between Yanjiang and Maoming in the next few hours. According to the latest forecast, the probability to issue tropical cyclone signal no. 8 is low.
However, after Maliksi moves inland, under the influence of the rainband associated with its southerly airstream, it is expected that there will be persistent showers and strong gusty winds from early times to morning on 1st June. Showers will be heavy at times with thunderstorms. Low-lying areas may experience flooding due to persistent rainfall and the accumulated amount could be over 100 mm.
