Carrentals.co.uk and Brake Partner Up for New Road Sense Campaign

Leading website and road safety charity announce latest venture to drive careful driving message

/EINPresswire.com/02 December 2011 - Online car hire comparison specialist Carrentals.co.uk has this week launched its sixth annual motoring safety campaign - 'Road Sense'. The campaign is introduced in partnership with road safety charity Brake and will promote careful driving and responsible car maintenance.

Road Sense takes one particular driving issue each year and seeks to raise awareness of it and encourage more responsibility among UK drivers. The campaign this year focuses on car brake and tyre safety and wants drivers to get them checked by experts regularly - even though they can be expensive.

Gareth Robinson, Managing Director of Carrentals.co.uk, says: "British roads can be very treacherous during the winter, so we're aiming to get people taking responsibility for the safety of their car tyres and brakes. The goal is to reduce the number of avoidable accidents on the roads of the UK."

Leading motoring charity Brake reports that more young Brits die in car accidents each year than by any other means, with lots of the accidents being avoidable. Excessive speed and careless overtaking are the main causes of accidents while there are one in eight UK drivers aged under 25 - yet one in four serious accidents includes a person from that age bracket.

"Carrentals.co.uk and Brake both want to make the UK's roads safer for all, so that is why we have teamed up for our Road Sense campaign this year," Gareth continued. "People need to be careful and pay attention to advice from organisations like Brake."

Katie Shephard, director at Brake, commented: "We're pleased to be involved with Carrentals.co.uk on the Road Sense campaign, and with Road Safety Week happening in Britain it's a really important time. We're asking motorists of all ages to 'have a heart at the wheel' and think about the safety of other drivers in addition to their own."

The Carrentals.co.uk Road Sense site offers road safety advice as well as new offers, including discounts on winter clothing and reflective gear for children and adults from Outdoor Look and BrightKidz.

Carrentals.co.uk is the leading car hire comparison site comparing prices in over 15,000 locations worldwide including France, Spain and car hire in Ireland, with pick up locations including car hire in Dublin, Cork and Shannon.
