Bachmann Announces Cyber Stalking Seminars on December 14

(Washington, D.C.) The Office of Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) will host two free cyber stalking seminars on Wednesday, December 14 for her constituents to learn about protecting children from online predators.

These important seminars are designed to reach the parents of the 93 percent of American teenagers aged 12-17 who, according to a recent Pew Research Study, use the Internet. Information will be presented by Brooklyn Police Chief Ken Prillaman, in cooperation with the FBI’s InfraGard, on how to detect potential online predators and help children safely navigate the Internet.

The first information session will be on Wednesday, December 14 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at St. Cloud Public Library's Mississippi Room, 1300 West Saint Germain Street, in St. Cloud. The second session will be also be on December 14, from 6:45- 8:45 p.m. at Anoka High School's Auditorium, 3939 Seventh Avenue North, in Anoka.

Bachmann said, “The threat of online cyber stalking is very real. However, that threat can be reduced if we as parents are actively aware of our children’s online activities and know the steps to keep our Internet-savvy children safe. I encourage my fellow parents and guardians in the Sixth District to attend one of my cyber stalking seminars to learn how to prevent children from sharing information with dangerous online predators.”

Reservations are requested for planning purposes to RSVPtoPreventPredators@mail.house.gov. For more information, you may view the flyer online here.
