Steelhead Habitat Restoration in the Potlatch River: Part 4- Monitoring Stream Restoration Projects

The Potlatch River basin in north-central Idaho is home to an endangered population of wild steelhead. Due to a variety of factors, including historic land use practices, wild steelhead numbers in the Potlatch River have been declining. Idaho Fish and Game and partner organizations have been conducting a large-scale habitat restoration program to improve stream conditions for these fish. As part of this program, we work directly with private landowners who share a common vision of saving this important population for future generations.

In Part 1-3 of this video series, we highlighted the overview of habitat restoration, how projects are implemented and the importance of partnering with private landowners to restore steelhead habitat. Part 4 of the series shows how we monitor the success of the steelhead habitat restoration program. This is the final video installment of this series. Thanks for following along with us on the as we share this important restoration work!
