District Freight Plan Update Public Meeting
(Washington, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) invites you to a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, on the District Freight Plan Update. The project team will present a near-final District Freight Plan Update and address questions from the community at this public meeting, which is a follow-up to our May 24, 2023, public meeting.
A freight plan is a federally required document that defines short-and long-term goals, objectives, needs, recommendations, projects, and performance measures for the District freight system. Since the enactment of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) in 2021, states and the District of Columbia are required to update their freight plans every four years.
The Freight Plan Update has developed recommendations and strategies to support the safe and efficient movement of goods and freight vehicles in the District. The recommendations from the plan will allow DDOT to make strategic investments in the District freight system.
