Charity Launches Thanksgiving "Feast For The Beasts"

Community Asked to Serve Up "Feast" for Rescued Horses

/EINPresswire.com/ Raleigh, NC - November 15, 2011 -- This Thanksgiving will be a 'feast for the beasts' at Hope Reins of Raleigh - if all goes according to plan for the local non-profit ministry during its first ever "Feast for The Beasts" Campaign, an on-line hay drive beginning November 14 - 23.

"Almost 50 percent of our annual budget goes toward caring for and feeding our horses," says Hope Reins Founder and President Kim Tschirret. "As winter comes, the grass dies back and we need to supplement with hay, so it's critical we stock up our barn."

The charity, which pairs rescued horses with at-risk and hurting children, is requesting a $10.00 minimum donation be made at its website http://hopereinsraleigh.org/feasts4beasts.html during the 10-day event - with a goal of reaching 1,000 bales before Thanksgiving. One $10.00 increment will buy approximately one bale of hay.

Hope Reins of Raleigh is a Christian equine ministry located at I-540 and Creedmoor Road in North Raleigh serving children ages 5-18. Since its inception in Summer 2010, Hope Reins has enjoyed remarkable support from the community - growing its 'herd' of horses to a dozen, amassing a strong volunteer base and serving hundreds of children and their families.

However, with success comes the great need to feed the herd of special horses that serve the children, according to Tschirret. "Ten dollars buys approximately one bale of hay - so 1,000 bales will be a tall order - but I believe this community can do it," she says.
