ILO Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific meets its tripartite partners in China

BEIJING (ILO News) - ILO Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific Chihoko Asada-Miyakawa met the ILO's tripartite partners in China during her visit to Beijing for the Seminar on Promotion of High-quality Employment commemorating the 10th Anniversary of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Chihoko Asada-Miyakawa held dialogues with Wang Xiaoping, Minister of Human Resources and Social Security, focusing on international cooperation within the framework of BRI and China’s development in human resources and social security over the years. Their conversations also revolved around the collaborative promotion of South-South cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.

During the meeting with All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), Vice President of ACFTU Wei Dichun highlighted the ACFTU’s role in safeguarding the rights and interests of workers in new forms of employment. Chihoko Asada-Miyakawa encouraged ACFTU to actively participate and share good practices in the establishment of international standards for new forms of employment by sharing China's valuable experiences with the global community.

In the meeting with China Enterprise Confederation (CEC), Executive Vice President and Secretary General of CEC Zhu Hongren, provided insights into the current key areas of CEC's work. They also discussed potential areas of future collaboration between the ILO and CEC.
