Aaron MacLean Elected to Philanthropy Roundtable Board of Directors 

Aaron MacLean joined Philanthropy Roundtable’s board of directors in May, bringing years of public service experience and a dedication to the Roundtable’s mission. Currently serving as senior director at The Paul E. Singer Foundation and a senior fellow at The Foundation for Defense of Democracies, MacLean’s expertise includes the role of public policy in preserving democracy.   

“Aaron MacLean is a true public servant who shares our values and will bring a thoughtful perspective to Philanthropy Roundtable’s board,” said Philanthropy Roundtable President and CEO Christie Herrera. “We look forward to leveraging Aaron’s experience and guidance as we seek to come alongside charitable donors who want to advance opportunity for all Americans.”   

Previously, MacLean was foreign policy advisor and legislative director to Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas. He also served as a U.S. Marine for seven years, deploying to Afghanistan as an infantry officer from 2009-2010. Following his time in the operating forces, MacLean was assigned to the faculty of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he was the 2013 recipient of the Apgar Award for Excellence in Teaching.
