Heart Gallery’s “Faces of Foster Care” travelling photographic exhibits now include 26 children

SARASOTA, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, May 3, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ -- In recognition of Foster Awareness Month in May, the Heart Gallery’s “Faces of Foster Care” travelling photographic exhibits now include 26 children who have chosen to be featured as a way of advocating for themselves to find a family of their own. Thanks to the support of the Community Foundation of Sarasota, the organization has installed the new exhibits at four Sarasota libraries.

The works by Peter Acker, Nicole Houser, Amanda Marie Mason, Daniel Peralis, Kathryn Brass-Piper and Carissa Warfield capture the spirit and character of the children. "The photographers put their heart and soul into it and they understand that this could be that child's only chance for a family - it could change the rest of their life," according to Matt Straeb, President of the Heart Gallery of Sarasota.

Faces of Foster Care raises awareness of the need for more foster and are responsible for nearly one-hundred inquiries from prospective parents each month. Semi-permanent exhibits can also be seen at the Ed Smith Stadium, Ringling Museum, Palm Avenue Fine Art Gallery and Church of the Palms.

“If having the Heart Gallery displayed makes a difference for just one child, it will be a success,” added Straeb.
