The duties of a Health Science Policy Analyst at CDER differ by office. Opportunities may include:
- Supporting cross-cutting collaboration and coordination on key Agency activities.
- Researching, analyzing, and developing regulations, policies, and programs involving complex and high-priority matters.
- Ensuring that the regulations, policies, and programs developed in the assigned areas are consistent with statutory requirements and existing policy.
- Ensuring that the need for the regulations, policies, and programs is justified and that adequate scientific and medical assessments and reviews are completed.
- Providing health science and technical expertise and leadership for cross-discipline working groups and assuming primary drafting responsibility for the group work product, including synthesizing input from multiple sources to achieve comprehensive, coherent policy.
- Making presentations that communicate current policy developments at the Agency and serving as a means of eliciting the concerns and criticisms of the regulated industry.
- Providing guidance and/or training to professionals on FDA matters.
