Celebrity CEO and Philanthropist Geoff Jimenez to Host Loida Nicolas-Lewis Book Launch in Granada Hills, CA
BEVERLY HILLS, CA , USA, April 13, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ -- Filipina-American lawyer, business icon, and author Loida Nicolas-Lewis will be holding a meet and greet and book signing for her new memoir Why Should Guys Have All the Fun? on April 21, 2023 from 4pm-9pm at 11070 Andasol Ave, Granada Hills, CA 91344. The event will be hosted by CEO and philanthropist Geoff Jimenez.
Loida and her husband, Reginald, were married from 1969 until Reginald’s untimely death in 1993. Since then, Loida has been promoting her late husband’s biography Why Should White Guys Have All the Fun? How Reginald Lewis Created a Billion Dollar Business Empire while continuing his legacy by leading his multibillion-dollar, multinational conglomerate, TLC Beatrice International Holdings Inc., into record levels of success. Eventually going on to write a biography of her own, Loida is now ready to share her own story about her experiences as a Filipina immigrant, an immigration lawyer, a savvy businesswoman, a wife, a widow, and a mother. This uplifting memoir shows readers how Loida’s hard work and incredible resilience helped her to achieve extraordinary things.
After becoming the first Asian woman to pass the New York Bar Exam in 1974, Loida became an immigration lawyer, specializing in Filipino immigrant rights and even co-writing the book “How to Get a Green Card.” She is a passionate advocate for dual citizenship and overseas voting during Philippine national elections. Loida has also been involved in organizations that uplift and empower the Filipino community. Loida co-founded the National Federation of Filipino-American Associations (NaFFAA) in 1997 with publisher Alex Esclamado, lawyer Rodel Rodis, and civic leader Gloria Caoile. Through this organization, Loida spoke in front of the White House to over 1,000 community leaders, students, civil rights activists, and Filipino World War II veterans to encourage justice for Filipino veterans and bring the community together. She is also the Chair of the Reginald F. Lewis Foundation.
Loida is excited to share her story with new audiences. Readers can RSVP to the event with their name and the number of books they wish to purchase by contacting 1(800)-749-2030 or 1(424)946-5740.
