Dr. Tae Yun Kim Holds Fundraiser for Save the Children's Emergency Relief Fund
/EINPresswire.com/ On July 9, 2011, hundreds of people were treated to a spectacular show of martial arts expertise, and they helped children in need at the same time. This was an amazing, one-of-a-kind event, and all of the proceeds went to support Save the Children's Emergency Relief Fund. This was an incredible show for an amazing cause, and Dr. Tae Yun Kim was glad to be at the center of it all.
Save the Children works in more than 120 nations, providing food, health care and education. The organization focuses on children who are vulnerable to neglect and starvation, and their funds have been pushed to the limit in 2011. The tornadoes in the United States, the Japan tsunami, the ongoing crisis in Haiti and the hunger crisis in Africa have all resulted in desperate need, and Save the Children's resources have been stretched to cover all of those costs.
Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim knows what it means to be hungry and in need. She was born into extreme poverty in South Korea, and struggled to survive through many, many years of neglect, hunger and abuse. She's worked tirelessly to improve herself and achieve the American dream. She's founded the Jung SuWon Martial Arts Academy and has won many, many awards for her work. Dr. Tae Yun Kim couldn't sit idly by when children were in need.
At the July 9 fundraiser, many of the world's top Martial Arts Masters came to the Santa Clara Convention Center to display their talents. Spectators saw shows of strength, precision and bravery. Dr. Tae Yun Kim hosted the event, introducing the participants and helping to boost the energy of the night. It was an incredible show of strength, and it allowed the organization to raise funds for this important cause.
While Dr. Tae Yun Kim hopes there are no more disasters in the future that will cause this sort of desperate need, she's also prepared to help wherever and whenever she can, so no more children grow up in the desperate circumstances she knew when she was a child.
