Daytime closures on southbound U.S. 218 at Nashua begin May 9 for asphalt resurfacing project
NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – April 29, 2022 – The entrance ramp to and exit ramp from southbound U.S. 218 at Nashua will be closed for daytime asphalt resurfacing work beginning May 9, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.
The daytime closures are expected to be in place for a week. Message signs will be used to provide travelers with advance notice of the closures.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
