Bachmann Opposes Majority Procedure

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) issued the following statement regarding the two House votes she was not present for today due to a flight delay:

“Once again the Majority in the House has thwarted regular order with a ‘Martial Law’ procedural vote. One can only assume that some Democrats think they are above normal House procedures. The American people want their representatives to operate transparently, but the current Majority has ignored their will again. I would have voted against this procedural motion to ensure that costly legislation is not rushed through the People’s House.

“Additionally, I would have voted in favor of H.R. 6540 to ensure that the Department of Defense always provides a level playing field so that no company is allowed an unfair competitive advantage.”
