Recall of Sigma Makaron Swojski Egg Noodles Due to the Presence of Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus
Sigma Makaron Swojski watkowany 4 jajeczny is being recalled by two retailers in Dublin, due to the presence of Salmonella Mbandaka and Staphylococcus aureus. The retailers have displayed point of sale notices informing customers of the recall.
Consumers are advised not to consume this affected batch as it could cause salmonellosis, of which symptoms include diarrhoea, stomach cramps, vomiting and fever, 12-72 hours after consumption. Staphylococcal enterotoxin may also be present. This toxin is heat resistant and can survive cooking. If consumed it may cause nausea, vomiting, cramping, abdominal pain, and diarrhoea, 3-12 hours after consumption. Customers who may have already consumed the implicated batch and are feeling unwell, should seek medical advice.
