House Speaker-designate John Boehner (R-OH) today announced the appointment of Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA) as Chairman of the House Administration Committee for the 112th Congress:
“Throughout his tenure with the House Administration Committee, Dan has been a leader in the Committee’s efforts to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-effective operation of the House.  In his new role as Chairman, Dan will continue providing the leadership and oversight needed to rein in the cost of operating Congress and save taxpayer dollars, consistent with the GOP’s Pledge to America. 
“Americans are more engaged in their government than ever before, and direct media has played a critical role in fostering this trend.  From his post at the House Administration Committee, Dan has helped to lead GOP efforts to ensure Members of Congress utilize the latest in technology and new media tools to better communicate with their constituents, and I'm confident that will continue in the 112th Congress.”
