McElligott Named Information Chief At Emerson

February 18, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Emerson (NYSE: EMR) has named Kathleen McElligott as its chief information officer. She replaces Stephen C. Hassell, who had been CIO since 2004 before being named president of combined Aperture and Avocent businesses within Emerson Network Power last month.

In her new role, McElligott will be responsible for Emerson’s information technology strategy for the company’s global operations, including hardware, software and services, as well as its telecommunications and data center infrastructure.

McElligott joined Emerson in 2000 as vice president of information technology for the Emerson Power Transmission division. In 2003, she was promoted to vice president of information technology for the Industrial Automation business, a title she held until her promotion to CIO.

Prior to joining Emerson, McElligott spent 22 years with General Electric, holding multiple information systems management roles, including CIO of supply chain for GE Aircraft Engines and IT manager of the Cycolac business of GE Plastics.

Missouri-based Emerson operates through its network power, process management, industrial automation, climate technologies, and appliance and tools businesses.
