Former Alltel CEO Scott T. Ford named to The King’s College Board of Trustees

NEW YORK (MMD Newswire) March 25, 2009 -- The King's College is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Scott T. Ford to the Board of Trustees.

Ford is the former president and CEO of Alltel Wireless. During his tenure, Alltel's wireless customer base grew to over 12 million, increased its wireless revenue to almost $8 billion annually, and shareholders enjoyed the greatest total return on investment of any of Alltel's major competitors.

Prior to his employment with Alltel, Ford, a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a degree in finance, worked in the investment banking divisions of Merrill Lynch and Stephens, Inc. His expertise involves traditional investment banking services, equity portfolio management, venture capital investing, and acquisitions in the media industry.

Following the purchase of Alltel Wireless by Verizon Communications in 2008, Ford formed Westrock Capital Partners, LLC, located in Little Rock, Ark., with Joe T. Ford and Richard N. Massey.

Throughout his business career Ford has been active in his community. He has served on numerous bank boards, is a former chairman of the Little Rock Branch of the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank, a former board member and former chairman of the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA), and a former director of Tyson Foods, Inc.

Scott and his wife Dede have three children and reside in Little Rock.
