US Housing Meltdown - The Multi-Billion Dollar Housing Rescue Law: H.R.3221

San Diego, CA - August 12, 2008 - www.UsHousingMeltdown.org is announcing the release of its free online directory covering the multi-billion dollar housing rescue law (H.R.3221) recently passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bush.

Using the online directory, with just a few clicks people can easily and quickly locate the section of the law they are interested in without having to wade through the entire 694 pages. The five sections in the directory include: GSE Reforms, Hope for Homeowners, S.A.F.E., FHA Modernization, and Housing Tax Assistance.

“Many parts of the housing law started out as separate pieces of legislation and the names changed several times making it rather confusing. As the legislation progressed through Congress, many of these separate bills were mashed together to become this massive 694-page law. Our directory helps clear up the confusion and provides the public with a convenient, better organized and easy to navigate directory to locate whatever portion of the law they're interested in,” says Marc Austin Editor-in-Chief of UsHousingMeltdown.org.

The directory and table of contents are free to use and can be found at http://www.UsHousingMeltdown.org/2008-housing-law.asp

Some of the highlights include, on pages 394-404 homeowners can learn the requirements for refinancing into a FHA guaranteed loan. The tax credit for first-time homebuyers is found on pages 628-637. Homeowners who don't itemize, will want to read pages 637-638 to find out about new tax breaks.

Mortgage loan originators will need to be familiar with the new S.A.F.E Act(pages 423-461)which sets new standards for licensing, education and mandatory registration. Additionally, on pages 495-498 are found the new FHA requirements for loan originators and limitation on fees.
