Last day to request an absentee ballot is Friday, October 26

Boise, Idaho – Idaho Secretary of State Lawerence Denney would like to make all eligible voters aware of early voting opportunities available in Idaho and reminds voters that Friday is the last day to request a mail-in absentee ballot.

“I encourage all Idahoans to exercise their right to vote,” said Secretary Denney. “It is important for voters to take the time to participate either by early voting, absentee ballot, or by voting at their polling place on Election Day.”

Registered voters who would like to vote by mail-in absentee ballot must submit an application with their county clerk’s office. Absentee Ballot Applications are available at county clerk’s offices or online at IdahoVotes.gov. Applications must be received by the county clerk no later than 5 p.m. Friday, October 26.

Friday, November 2 is the last day for early voting. In-person absentee voting is available at every county clerk’s office with some counties offering early voting at additional locations. Voters should contact their county clerk’s office for specific details about early voting dates, times, and locations. Contact information for each county clerk is available on the County Clerks page of IdahoVotes.gov.

Completed absentee ballots must be received at the county clerk’s office no later than 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6. Voters can return completed absentee ballots by mail or deliver them in person to their county clerk’s office.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 6, and polling places will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Voters can plan their trip to the polls on Election Day by visiting IdahoVotes.gov to look up the location of their polling place, learn about accessible voting options, check the identification requirements, and access a copy of the 2018 Voters’ Pamphlet in several formats.
