Upgraded 215 Beltway Segment Reopens May 21 in Northwest Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will reopen east and westbound 215 Beltway between Durango Drive and Tenaya Way at 5 a.m., May 21, in northwest Las Vegas. The 1.25-mile-stretch of freeway had been squeezed down to one-lane since May 2.

The 24/7 traffic restrictions were needed for placing a 178-foot-long section of pre-cast concrete box drainage channel measuring 20-foot-wide by 6-foot-tall beneath the freeway as part of the $155 million Centennial Bowl project’s final phase, which broke ground in January. Las Vegas Paving Corp. is the general contractor.

Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but unscheduled construction changes, closures and restrictions are possible due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit nvroads.com or call 511 before driving.
